Ransomware Group Takes Credit for Lurie Children’s Network Outage

In a cyber attack impacting Lurie Children’s Hospital, ransomware group Rhysida is taking credit for the outage. The problems began almost a month ago when the attack forced the hospital to take its phone and internet services off line. In a post on the dark web, Rhysida is asking for 60 bitcoin in exchange for exclusive, unique and impressive data. That money is equivalent to about $3.4 million. GuidePoint Security experts suggest that this has escalated because the hospital either hasn’t been able to negotiate or negotiations failed.
