GuidePoint Security Appoints Shawn Harrs as Chief Information Officer
New CIO Role Strengthens Enterprise Technology Leadership as Company Grows
RESTON, Va. (February 25, 2026) — GuidePoint Security, the cybersecurity advisor and services partner organizations rely on to protect what matters most, announced today the appointment of Shawn Harrs, Ph.D. as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Harrs brings more than 20 years of enterprise technology leadership experience to the role, with a deep track record of driving digital transformation and delivering measurable business impact.
He joins GuidePoint Security from Red Lobster, where as Executive Vice President & CIO, he led a 200-person technology organization, modernized the company’s digital experience and reduced compliance and cyber-insurance costs by $5M. Prior to that, he served as CIO at Ygrene Energy Fund, where he re-architected the company’s lending platform using cloud-native development and real-time AI models, increasing revenue by 25%. His career also spans senior technology leadership roles at Vital Pharmaceuticals, Universal Parks & Resorts, Lennar Corporation and The Walt Disney Company.
