Cyber Monday shoppers beware: Online attacks and ransomware crimes are on a record pace

Cyber attacks and ransomware crimes are on a record pace this year and with Cyber Monday, cybersecurity experts are warning consumers and businesses to be careful. ABC 13 News spoke with GuidePoint Security’s Senior Director of Cyber Defense, Mark Lance, who recommends making sure you’re visiting trusted websites.
“You should definitely make sure if possible don’t use your work computers for personal shopping and other activities that you’re going to be doing online. Make sure that when you are going shopping, you’re visiting trusted sites. Don’t go to sites with deals that seem too good to be true because a lot of times if they are too good to be true, then that’s the truth,” said Lance.
