GuidePoint Security published findings about how recent high profile ransomware group takedowns by law enforcement impacted the overall ransomware as a service industry.

It found that the biggest long term impact might be creating distrust between the operators and their affiliates. In an effort to gain affiliate trust, new ransomware startups increasingly offer more generous revenue splits, access to more ransomware infrastructure like negotiating teams, eliminated upfront fees, and even letting affiliates keep ransoms from the start and pay the operator after collection.
