Mike helps drive investments in data-focused companies for the business and tech-enabled services sector at ABS Capital. And as the newest partner at ABS Capital, he maintains a unique stance as both an investor and a start-up CEO in his own company. In fact, he has recently been heavily involved in starting three companies, successfully taking them through critical stages of growth and exit events. He is able to share this entrepreneurial spirit and deep data expertise with portfolio companies – collaborating with an operator’s perspective.
Prior to ABS, Mike helped launch Millennial Media as a venture capitalist and later joined the company to lead its successful growth phase and IPO (NYSE:MM). Prior to Millennial Media, Mike was a Principal at Columbia Capital where he led numerous investments in digital media, software and communications technology companies. Mike has also held various operating roles in early and growth stage technology businesses. Most recently, Mike founded and is the CEO of ICX Media, a digital media software and data analytics company.
Mike Detwiler brings twenty years of technological innovation and entrepreneurial business building experience to his role as a Board Member for GuidePoint Security. Over the last twenty years Mike co-founded Mortgage Cadence a groundbreaking SaaS platform for the financial services industry and has built and exited SaaS software and services businesses in partnership with Private Equity. As a Senior Managing Director, Mike ran Accenture Software and the related services business as well as started Accenture Products and Platforms, a services business, a digital transformation practice at Accenture designed to help companies pivot to platform businesses as well as deliver solutions via PaaS, Platform as a Service. Mike also oversaw M&A as part of the inorganic growth strategy for both Mortgage Cadence, Accenture Software and Accenture Products and Platforms.
Most recently Mike has partnered with Narrow Gauge Capital to acquire a majority stake in Class Valuation with the vision of growth through innovation and leading industry change for the valuation and appraisal aspects of the Mortgage business. Mike brings a wealth of experience in growing innovative, digital-first software and services companies.
Larry is the Principal at Aegis Management, LLC, a management consulting firm. He has over 25 years of experience in the software, information & IT services, marketing services and clean-tech. Jones has a proven track record as the CEO of seven technology companies leading public, private equity and VC backed high growth and turnaround situations.
Over the past 20 years, Jones has served as director of 12 other public and private companies, including Coalfire, Diligent Board Books, Essential Power, Comverge, Work Options Group, StarTek. Exabyte, Activant Solutions, Real Solutions, SARCOM, WebClients, and DIMAC and is a member and NACD Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors. Larry is currently a director at Xyston (a private managed cybersecurity company), Xyleme (a private SaaS content management company), the Local Theater Group in Boulder and Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder. Previously, he was the CEO of Coalfire Inc., that provides cybersecurity risk advisory services.
Jones graduated from WPI and earned his MBA from Boston University. He currently resides in Boulder, Colorado, and New York City.
